Children + Families
Children’s Ministry at Fuquay-Varina UMC serves children ages birth – 5th grade. We offer nursery, Sunday School, small groups, and special events, including Vacation Bible School.
Through these programs, our team helps children learn about how much Jesus loves them, the key stories that help form the building blocks of our faith, and what it means to serve God and others.
We recognize and celebrate that so much of faith formation happens at home, so we do all we can to support and equip caregivers for this important work.

Children’s Ministry Overview
Early Childhood
As infants, toddlers, and preschoolers discover the world around them, they are discovering a God who loves them and a church family who supports them! We welcome them to Sunday morning activities and special events to explore together.
Nursery
- Offered during all 3 Sunday morning Worship services
Nursery care is available for children ages birth – 2 years old. Trained staff and volunteers will care for your infants and toddlers, providing love, safety, and opportunities for play.
Music Program: Kids NPraise
- Wednesday Afternoons at 4:30pm
This free children’s program is open to kids starting at age 4. If a family member volunteers, arrangements can be made for younger children to hang out at Camp Quay Kids and 3 year olds can participate in KNP with a buddy. Kids NPraise includes choir, drama, creative movement, rhythm instruments, bells, Bible activities, and more! Each semester’s program culminates with a musical performance. Parents, caregivers, grandparents, older siblings, etc. are invited to volunteer.
Preschool: Seeds of Faith
- Half-day Program
Seeds of Faith Preschool serves families with children ages 2 through Pre-K. With an emphasis on learning through play, our caring preschool teachers and staff encourage each child’s developmental, social, and spiritual growth. Visit the Preschool page to learn more.
Kindergarten – 3rd Grade
Early Elementary School is an incredibly rich time for learning and growing, as well as building relationships with each other and with Christ. We’d love to journey alongside them in Sunday School, Sunday Night Small Groups, and/or Special Events.
Sunday School
- Offered during all 3 Sunday morning Worship services
Gives kids tools to develop relationships with God, as well as a foundational knowledge of our faith and its stories. Classes for children during all services with age-appropriate lessons and activities.
Small Groups: K1ngdom Kids and Faithweaver Friends
- Sunday Afternoons at 4:30pm
Two small groups are offered for for this age group. K1ngdom Kids (K-1st children) and Faithweaver Friends (2nd-3rd) are a great opportunity for relationship-building with peers, leaders, and Christ. During the hour and a half, we have a fun lesson, time for free-play, and snacks.
Music Program: Kids NPraise

4th-5th Grade
Growing in independence, skill, and faith every day, 4th and 5th graders are leaders amongst their peers in Children’s Ministry. We’ll help them grow through Sunday School, Kids For Christ (small group), Special Events, and Serving Opportunities.

All God’s Children
So That All Kids Can Participate!
Our All God’s Children ministry serves children (birth-5th grade) with unique learning needs. Upon caregivers’ requests, children are paired with a buddy to support them during classes and events.
While buddies are not medical professionals, they can support children with their physical needs and help them participate.

Children are welcome to serve with their parents, either on the children’s wing or on our other service teams! Whether it’s helping in the garden or joining a Sunday morning hospitality team, we’d love your kids to get involved.
