We can’t wait to meet you!
What to expect on Sunday mornings
Around here, Sunday mornings can feel like an energetic family reunion with people of all ages and stages milling about. We would love to invite you to be a part of the fam. Everyone is welcome!
Since we’re all still re-emerging after the past couple of years, literally everyone is starting over, even those who have attended FVUMC for years. You will definitely not be the only one feeling “new.” We can just be awkward together and figure it out as we go along.
If you have questions or need anything on Sunday morning, we have a welcome tent in front of the building by the fountain with people ready to help get you connected. Make sure to stop by and grab a welcome bag with some homemade cookies just for you!
Wear what makes you comfortable
You will find people wearing everything from dresses and suits to jeans and t-shirts. For some, dressing up feels important. For others, casual is comfortable. You do you. And speaking of what to wear – we don’t have any policies about wearing masks. Wear one if you prefer, don’t wear one if you prefer that. We’ll be glad to see you no matter what!
We made you cookies!
Planning to join us for worship? Fill out our Connect Card to let us know, and we’d be happy to save you a seat. And, don’t worry, we know you probably don’t want to sit in the front row!!! Just give us your preference on date and worship service time/style in the comments field of the form: we’ll contact you to set things up.
For questions anytime, please email in**@***mc.org or call 919-552-4331, ext. 100.
Helpful resources
Family Bathroom
We have a family bathroom on the adult wing that’s been designed not only for individuals with wheelchairs, but also to provide options so that family members and other caregivers can assist individuals. The ADA-compliant facilities include a toilet, transfer shower, emergency pull strings, and sinks at adult and child wheelchair heights. The space also includes a full-sized, motorized changing table which can accommodate up to 440lbs.
Kids’ Activity Bags
Kids of all ages are always welcome in worship! We know that worshipping looks different for different people and at different ages, so we provide activity bags for our youngest disciples. Located in fabric bins kept just outside the doors to the Centrum in the lobby, these bags include coloring and activity pages pitched at different levels that go along with the sermon, crayons, fidget objects, and books. Please return your bag after the service; you’re welcome to keep any activity sheets, whether they’ve been started or not.
Nursing Room
We offer a quiet, private space on the children’s wing for nursing and feeding little ones during worship. During the 9:00 hour, the Venue is streamed into the room, and during 10:00 and 11:15, the worship services are live streamed. If the room is not being used for nursing, it is available for parents with little ones who would like to stay together with some roaming (and joyful noise making) ability during worship.
During the week
Groups, groups, and more groups
We have weekday groups and programs for all ages – whether you’re a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-serve kind of person, you just want to get to know some new people, or you are interested in an in-depth Bible study.
We’re here to help find you the right spot to get started!
What options do you have for my kids?
We want to be sure your kids know that God created them and loves them no matter what, and God wants to be friends with them.
We offer many ways help children and youth learn about God through the Bible and what these teachings mean for us today. We also offer opportunities for kids to live out their faith in God through hands-on mission and serving opportunities.
Can someone call/email/text me?
Absolutely!
We’d love to help you connect with the small groups, ministries, and activities that resonate with your life and interests!
