You may choose to add FVUMC to your will or living trust by including a specific dollar amount or a percentage of what is left after other distributions have been made. If you have an existing will, you may be able to add a charitable gift through an amendment, called a codicil.
Additionally, Fuquay-Varina UMC has five endowment funds available to receive gifts supporting a variety of areas. Anyone can make additions to these endowments at any time. To give to these funds, note the fund name on the memo line of your gift. Donations through gifts of stock or from required minimum IRA distributions are also an option.
These funds are housed at the NC Conference United Methodist Foundation (umfnc.org) and the principal is invested in socially-responsible investments. Your gifts are added to the principal, and only the earnings from the investments are available for distribution.

Our funds are:
- Diana Dale Thomas Endowment – Our newest fund was created in 2015 to honor Diana’s 50 years of faithful service as organist/pianist. This fund provides for ongoing maintenance and needed acquisition of pianos or organs to support the church’s music ministries.
- Estelle Tilley Fund – Created from a bequest from Mrs. Tilley, this fund provides support for the landscaping around the chapel entrance and also supports scholarships for college students (especially those studying to become a teacher). The scholarship portion of this fund is overseen by the Scholarship Committee, and awards are sent directly to the school.
- McLeod Building & Grounds Endowment – Gifts to this fund, originally created by a donation from the McLeod family, support general operating needs of the church with priority to the general maintenance of the church building and grounds.
- Dr. W.S. and Pauline H. Cozart Memorial Children’s Endowment – Gifts to this fund are used for the operating budget needs of children’s Sunday school ministries at FVUMC.
- F.H. Eason Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church – Established to offer higher education (undergraduate or graduate) opportunities to members of FVUMC, awards help defray tuition, fees, books, and educational supplies. Distributions are overseen by the Scholarship Committee and are sent directly to the appropriate school.
