Music & Worship Ministries
FVUMC Music and Worship Ministries offer opportunities for all skill levels and all ages to serve and worship through music in both traditional and contemporary settings, as well as in the community.
Included are contemporary bands, vocal choirs (contemporary and traditional), handbells and hand chimes, and orchestral ensembles.
For children we are raising up the next generation of worshipers and worship leaders through a thriving children’s choir and drama program, and our middle and high school musicians participate regularly in worship through their own youth band and choir.
At FVUMC, you’ll find a place where all are welcomed and encouraged to use their gifts to serve and worship God.

Behind the Scenes
Tech Team
Email Kyle Kikendall, Audio Visual Technical Producer, at te**********@***mc.org for more information.
- The Tech Team supports Sunday morning worship and other special events. Opportunities include Audio Mixers, Camera Operators, Visual Media Operators, Online Production Switcher, and Online Producer. On occasion, we have projects for those with Video Production and/or Video Editing experience as well.
- We welcome adults and youth (6th grade and up) with previous experience as well as those interested in training for these opportunities.
Sacred Settings Team
Contact Carol Stephenson, Director of Traditional Music, at tr**************@***mc.org or 919 552-4331, ext. 115 for more information.
- The Sacred Settings Team is a group of creative and detail-minded people who find joy in helping to bring together the visual elements that enhance our worship spaces (platform, chapel, lobby, hallways). The time commitment varies by season, with more planning and set-up time needed during Advent and Lent.
- You will often see this team working after services are over or during the week in order to change the banners and paraments, set the Communion table for the season, and create visual designs to reinforce the messages shared in worship.
- Members of this team collaborate with the pastors and one another — sharing their ideas and their various skills to elevate our worship experience, both in-person and online.
- No experience is necessary and new members are always welcome.
