Tonight’s Ash Wednesday worship has been cancelled.
While the ice and snow are melting, there are concerns about road and sidewalk conditions as temperatures drop this evening. Our foremost concern is for the safety of our families.
Just because we aren’t gathering at the church building tonight does not mean that we have to skip Ash Wednesday.
You are invited to participate with your family and friends in “Ash Wednesday at Home.”
The early church did not begin in large buildings but in the homes of the early converts. This is a great opportunity for us to do the same with our families. You may want to invite friends who live close by to join you.
We encourage all of our families and individuals to participate tonight in an “Ash Wednesday at Home” service as we enter this most holy 40 days of spiritual preparation.

Practice Makes Perfect: Lent 2015 @ FVUMC

Every week during Lent you will be receiving an email that encourages you and your family to engage in a different spiritual practice for that week.
The email will provide some information about that spiritual practice, and it will provide 3 different ways that you could engage in that practice as a family. Our hope is that everyone in our church body does 1 of these 3 things each week to engage in a different spiritual practice.
Look for the Practice Makes Perfect email this weekend for our first practice, fasting. Our other practices during Lent are meditation, confession, solitude, and service.
