At Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church (FVUMC), we believe every person is created in the image of God and holds sacred worth.
Our call to follow Jesus means we commit to:

Our faith teaches us that grace is both personal and social—it transforms hearts and also moves us to transform the systems that cause harm.
Racial equity is part of that transformation. It is how we live into the Gospel by ensuring that all people are seen, valued, and empowered to fully participate in community life.

As part of the United Methodist connection, FVUMC joins a global network committed to justice and mercy. Together we work for racial equity through ministries of education, mission, and service—locally and worldwide.
Our connection allows us to support efforts to:
- Strengthen diverse leadership within the church
- Partner with ministries that address poverty, education gaps, and racial inequities
- Engage in programs guided by the General Commission on Religion and Race
These efforts help United Methodist churches grow in inclusion, cross-cultural understanding, and accountability.
The Racial Equity Team
Transforming Community Through Service
The Racial Equity Team (RET) meets monthly via Google Meet to plan small groups, discussion series, service opportunities, and other invitations for our congregation and community that help us learn and act together. We believe that transformation happens when relationships are nurtured and grace is shared. The journey toward racial equity is not a single initia-tive—it is a way of being church together.
